Our two road warrior hero’s(Michael Akaydin & Bubba Pauli) give a wrap-up repot on their supercross season!
Well that’s a wrap! The 2018 AMA Supercross season has come and gone. What a season it’s been! The guys from the TXS Supercross team have had a great season!
The team was right in the mix once again at the final 2 rounds, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas! With open arms, the team hosted early season fill-in rider for Michael Akaydin, Scotty Wennerstrom, in their pit area to have a 3 rider presence on and off the track. With that presence, the team was able to put a bike in the night show 5 of 6 attempts in the final 2 races as well as 2 top 10 LCQ finishes by Pauli. During both of the final two rounds the team supported new limited addition gear sets by Skillz Racing that caught many’s attention accompanied by Las Vegas themed graphics by Top Secret Designs.
While attending all 17 rounds of the series, the guys have qualified for 27 of 34 possible night shows (Top 40) as well as 1 Triple Crown main event (Top 22.) Only missing the few opportunities due to injury but they finished strong, not an easy task to do. During those 17 rounds the TXS athletes had performed in front of over 800,000 live audience viewers, over 10 million live television viewers and last but not least they had a strong one on one presence with over 300,000 in-person fans during the pit party every week. Traveling on the road in the team van, they logged just over 24,000 miles from late December to early May; the guys have had plenty of time to brainstorm and start working on many ways to better themselves as a team and as racers.
Moving forward, the team is eager to keep racing and prepare for next season. While the summer and fall seasons will consist of racing select outdoor pro nationals, local, regional and foreign country races, the team is looking to grow with existing sponsors and bring in new ones as well. An asset the team is looking to employ for the 2019 SX season is to provide the opportunity for sponsors and their products to be more hands on and interactive in the pits.
Thanks for being a part of the 2018 TXS Supercross team effort, we are genuinely appreciative of your support!
